Adwords - A gift from Google
I have recieved a 2000 INR free coupon from Google which i can use for adwords. They say it will drive a good amount of traffic to the blog.
Does it really have an impact on the visitor number? Is there anyone else who have had an experience with such a thing with Google adwords before..Was it fruitful?
Actually i am very naive about all these things, and wanted to ask all you people on whether i should go ahead and use the coupon?
And one more thing i do not want to spend any extra bucks, is it possible?
Hi Arti, to avail the Rs 2000/- You have to spend another Rs 500/- (minimum). Then come to the usage. For a simple blogger, it's of minimum usage. If you want to promote some products or service for that it is good.

Google adwords may or may not work. But backlinks improve traffic to your blog.
it would surely drive traffic to you for sure ..
the more you spent .. the more traffic you would get ..

@Anand yeah as @arti suggested, you can consider guest blogging on other blogs and get hits back to your blog as well. Other ways include publishing your blog urls in Social Networks like Facebook, Twitter, the bookmarking tools like Discus, Stumble upon, Del.ico.us etc. There are many more networks like these. The prestegious though, is getting a entry with in Dmoz, which may take months and years.
Dmoz is a link archive as you already know @arti. Even my url is yet to be approved and i never got any communication back from them either. Hope they are still active.
Craig's list was made famous too but now i hardly hear about it. Its still acitve and its now localized as well.
I dont understand how are you all guys saying posting an advert on google helps in back link. Its a myth. Google adverts are not considered as backlinks, so please dont be in that impression

I got my voucher last month. I paid 500 bucks. The google support guys called up and helped on almost everything. I havent activated the campaign yet. I feel those who want quality traffic should try this. : )

I got it after a few months once my site was approved for adsense .
Oh, I am yet to apply for Adsense. :)
They would get much more in return for what they give away free.
