I got both Toke a month back and The Tower Of Silence delivered now. My IndiDispatch doesn't show anything, it simply says that I haven't been sent anything. Can I do something about it?
Can I do something about it?
It looks that those books are not shown in anyone's IndiDispatch.
If you want them to be shown right now, contact Renie.
I got a message from the courier fellow that book has come and I was not at home.
books sent by HC doesn't seem to be recored at Indispatch... telling from my past and present experiences
and one more thing, it's directly sent to you by HC, not IB
For me, the book Jack is Back was recorded but Toke wasn't recorded. If I am correct, 'jack is Back' was sent before IndiDispatch came into existence while Toke was sent after IndiDispatch. So, it might be that IB didn't update IndiDispatch after its launch.
I got mine today :) yippee but i dunno how to go about it :(
I haven't got anything
Not got anything till now
has anyone recieved the book yet?
The wait is not over as yet...still not received the book!
Me too
I would like to review " The price you pay."Where to send my request?
I'm not sure if applying for the books is still open. Visit this page : http://www.indiblogger.in/getpublished/ If it is still open, then you will see buttons named 'Apply for this Book'. Click on the button corresponding to the book that you want to review.
Any idea when they'll confirm about the selection? Anyway I think they're not much bothered whether you review it or not after you receive it... Somehow i find BA's book review program more systematic apart from their ridiculous 7 days reading+reviewing time :-)
They never send any rejection mails or not even mails saying that you will recive your book!
Isn't it good that they don't bother whether you post a review or not? You can throw away the book if you find the story stupid enough - like your experience with Toke.
Certainly so... But i heartily wish to complete a book and review it... Anyway all is well :-)
Hope they will inform us before sending the book and not just send the book across. Depending on the time they are planning to dispatch the book, I may have to update the address where I will like to receive it.
They won't!
I received the second book just the day after I reached my hostel. If the book arrived a day earlier or if I had gone to my hostel a day late, I would have missed that book...
I chose Tower of Silence this time. The last time I had chosen Toke by Jugal Mody and my parents were horrified when the book arrived. It had come directly to my house instead of my hostel room. Hopefully the book will arrive soon, else I'll miss it again as my semester break draws to an end.
Has anybody got any update on this? Neither have I got a book nor have I got any kind of update on it? I am wondering whether they have forgotten me?
I also haven't got the book. May be they are on their way :)
Nope, no books and no update
I've gone for Billionaire boy....Somehow his story still fascinates me :-D
When will the books be shipped? i have been waiting desperately for the my book.
I applied for the book a couple of weeks back. Haven't heard anything after that? When will the book be shipped?
I am a big movie buff, applied for silent cenema, btw, does anyone know when the books will be sent?
I received 'Jack is Back' two months after applying for it. And 'toke' took around five months to arrive. I think that the books are sent in batches.
I am little bit criminal minded, so I am going for The Price You Pay, written by Mr Batbyal....Don't know why but I am having a feeling that I might get lucky this time....
well as i am a avid reader of books like The Google Story,Steve Jobs biography i requested:-Billionaire Boy By George Beahm
btw are they free?
@Nandini, thanks for being so clear. Your precise answer solved my query Anyway, I applied...let's see what happens
How does this thing work...i am trying to find rules but couldn't
Hey check out the get published link on the homepage
I checked the forum but it seems everything is related to that "Get Published" contest...I wanted to know if this is a part of that contest. Because if so, it's useless for me because I haven't participated in it.
No, there is a book review section, check that
I think it should be for all Indibloggers and not just for those who participated in GP contest :)
@Prasanna ...it is for all
Ok. So you have to seek approval to write a review about a book you want to?
I doubt if they have rules.
Just go to http://www.indiblogger.in/getpublished/ , click the 'Apply to Review' button of any one of the seven books and you are done!
no need to seek approval....once u apply u'll get mail that books are sent on first come first serve basis....so if u apply amongst the first ones...u'd get lucky and get the book....then read and write review on ur blog and then post the link back on the indiblogger review page...simple
I think its firstcome and first serve for each book and open for all indi bloggers
I have opened this page in a tab. Came back after few minutes and posted the previous reply. Never expected that so many replies would be posted!
Lesson Learnt : Before hitting the reply button, check if new replies have been posted!
Me being a big fan of non-fiction books, have applied for the only non-fiction book among the 7. Generally this category doesn't have much competition and hence I am hoping for the best :D
Aren't there three non fiction books : Silent Cinema in India, Billionaire Boy and Bong Mom’s Cookbook
Ha ha. I did not notice the cookbook! For some reason, I chose to overlook Silent Cinema in India as well. I translate 'Business' as 'Non-Fiction' internally, and that seems to have carried on in my comment as well :)
Already applied for Jacob Hills By Ismita Tandon Dhanker. I had read her previous book and found it to be good.
