Q&A
I am foodie, photographer, selfie specialist who loves playing carom, scrabble and shuttle, long walks – preferably in green parks, near rivers or oceans. I am a realist, dreamer, and am forever looking for realistic ways to attaining my dreams – and succeed quite a bit too!
Recently, I’ve been writing more poetry, and exploring the world of spoken word poetry. I’ve finished the first draft of one novel, but haven’t worked on getting it published yet. That’s about an Indian girl, who decided to give in to the traditional arranged marriage setup, and finding her footing in it. I do still write my short stories – which are based on or inspired by random life experiences.
- Authors
- Enid Blyton – She has always been my biggest inspiration as an author. Although I haven’t yet written much aimed at children as audience, I’ve forever wanted to, and she’s probably the reason for it. The magic faraway tree is still one of my happy places!
- Rudyard Kippling
- John Case
- Jane Austen – For the romantic in every girl
- Louisa May Montgomery – For the girl and the woman
- Sidney Sheldon
- J K Rowling
To me, being an anonymous blogger (well almost, until now! ;) ), blogging is a very personal thing, wherein I could write my experiences, write my way out of confusions, vent my frustrations, and share my happiness. Of course I publish my poetry and short stories in my blog. But being an author – published or otherwise is like seeing the world with different glasses … more, it’s like living in a whole different world. One that you create, and one which you control, and sometimes one that controls you. As an author, you go places, be people – so many characters, and live in scenarios that you start creating, and it just flies from there. Most times, when I start writing a story, I have no idea where and how it will end. It’s like taking a journey with your characters. It can be fact or fiction or fantasy! It’s a wonderfully liberating and exhilarating experience!
